THE BUILD PROCESS

From Blueprint to Reality | Engineered Precision | Handcrafted Excellence

FURNITURE ENGINEERING METHODOLOGY

Every piece we create follows a rigorous process that combines architectural design principles with traditional craftsmanship. This isn't mass production—it's methodical creation. Each step is documented, each decision is intentional, and each detail is executed with precision.

INITIAL CONSULTATION

We begin with an in-depth conversation about your needs, space, and vision. What problem does this furniture solve? How will it be used? What aesthetic are you drawn to? This consultation can be in-person at our Denver workshop or via video call.

Duration: 1-2 hours

CONCEPT SKETCHES

Based on our consultation, we develop initial concept sketches—hand-drawn explorations of form, proportion, and spatial relationships. These sketches translate your requirements into visual possibilities.

Duration: 3-5 days

3D MODELING & BLUEPRINTS

Approved concepts are transformed into detailed 3D models and technical blueprints. Every dimension is specified, every joint is detailed, every material is documented. You'll see photorealistic renderings of your future furniture.

Duration: 5-7 days

MATERIAL SELECTION

You'll visit our workshop (or we'll send samples) to select wood species, finishes, hardware, and accent materials. Feel the grain of walnut versus oak. See how brass differs from steel. This tactile selection ensures you love every component.

Duration: 1-2 weeks

MATERIAL SOURCING

We source premium hardwoods, metals, and components from trusted suppliers. Woods are kiln-dried to optimal moisture content. Metals are inspected for quality. We never compromise on material integrity.

Duration: 2-3 weeks

06

PRECISION CUTTING

Using CNC machines and traditional woodworking tools, materials are cut to exact specifications. Tolerances are measured in thousandths of an inch. Each component is labeled and organized for assembly.

Duration: 3-5 days

JOINERY & ASSEMBLY

Components are assembled using time-tested joinery techniques: mortise and tenon, dovetails, dowels, and steel welding. Every joint is tested for strength. This is where the furniture takes physical form.

Duration: 1-2 weeks

08

SANDING & FINISHING

Surfaces are hand-sanded through progressive grits (80, 120, 180, 220) until perfectly smooth. Stains and finishes are applied in multiple coats. Each coat is cured, sanded, and inspected before the next application.

Duration: 1-2 weeks

QUALITY INSPECTION

The completed piece undergoes rigorous inspection. We check structural integrity, finish quality, hardware function, and overall aesthetics. Any imperfections are corrected. We photograph the piece for your approval.

Duration: 2-3 days

DELIVERY & INSTALLATION

We carefully package your furniture and deliver it to your location. For larger pieces, we provide white-glove installation, ensuring perfect placement and stability. We'll even help arrange your space if needed.

Duration: 1 day

TOTAL TIMELINE

8-12 WEEKS

From initial consultation to final installation

Timelines vary based on project complexity, material availability, and our current workload. Rush orders can sometimes be accommodated. Complex installations may require additional time. We'll provide a detailed timeline during your consultation.
